Axion run multimillion pound advanced sorting and reprocessing plants. They sell both the products and by-products of the process, and share their engineering and business expertise through a range of consultancy and practical support services. As a result, they’ve become widely recognised as experts in developing innovative resource recovery technologies and delivering both financial and environmental benefits.
We have worked with the Axion marketing team for 5 years. In 2017 we were asked to rebrand what was ‘Axion Consulting’ and highlight the business’s wider circular economy services. Only after spending time with our copywriter visiting Axions plants and labs and talking to team members did we begin the creative process. An overall Axion brand to encompass both products and services was developed. It was important that Axion Polymers retained it’s own own brand identity and so a Polymers sub-brand was created. The separation of the Axion Polymers brand is largely achieve by a difference in colour palette and changes within the secondary brand assets. These changes allow the Polymers brand to sit comfortably within the overall Axion branding but have a distinctive ‘accent’ of their own.
The new logos for both Axion and Axion Polymers use a dotted ‘O’ which reflects the circular economy, is also inspired by the extruder head in polymer production (something we would never have known about without spending the time to visit sites and talk to employees). We produced full brand guidelines, secondary branding elements, brand iconography, illustration work and product photography.
The new Word Press website immediately reinforces Axion’s positioning as ‘Circular Economy specialists’. The use of a mega menu enables quick and easy navigation to all parts of the site from the home page and ensures regular users to find specific pages quickly. The two sides of the site – ‘products’ and ‘services’ are defined by strong colour changes, the typography and layout is open and we built a secondary side menu making navigation within sector pages simple and intuitive.
